Calder Richards provided full structural engineering design for the new 40,000 sf Weber-Morgan Health Department clinic and office building. The 3-story building features a steel roof, open web joists, concrete pan open-web joist floors and conventional concrete foundations. The lateral system is a combination of bolted steel-braced frames and end-plate moment frames. In addition, construction required engineering rear building elevation into hillside to provide site retainage. The project also features a 1-story, fleet vehicle maintenance building constructed with steel open web joists and masonry block bearing walls.
