The NEW Farmington High School
Calder Richards is pleased to announce the completion of the new Farmington High School! Our K-12 engineers have worked with Davis School District for many years and were happy to work on another innovative school for them. This was a particularly interesting project to work on because of its embodiment of 21st Century Design. Open and flexible spaces can be found throughout the school as well as an abundance of natural light. The cantilevered library above the main entrance serves dual purpose – bringing light into the space and creating a portico over the entrance. Other elements of the design include framing panoramic views, paying attention to non-structural details, maintaining as much open space as possible by eliminating unnecessary columns, and economical high design features.
Thank you to VCBO and Davis School District for letting us be part of the team on this amazing design. And thank you to all the contractors and engineers who worked on this project to make it a reality – Hughes General Contractors, VBFA, and Envision Engineering.
