Reaching New Heights
September 10, 2019
Working with an extraordinary team that included VCBO Architects and Hughes General Contractors on the new Alta High School Performing Arts Center, Calder Richards engineered a tilt-up concrete system with panels ranging in height from 55 to 75 feet. The panels, varying in weight from 100,000 to 130,000 lbs., saved Canyons School District over $500,000 while meeting a challenging construction schedule.
Escalating construction costs and a tight design window required engineering the auditorium’s supporting walls with tilt panels taller than ever had been done before in Utah!
