Partner Promotion: Alex Karras, SE

Calder Richards is proud to announce the promotion of Alex Karras, SE, to Partner of the firm. Alex’s leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in advancing Calder Richards’ reputation for delivering innovative structural solutions.

Since joining Calder Richards in 2016, Alex has been an integral part of the firm’s success. Over his nine-year tenure, he has led critical projects across diverse sectors, including K-12 schools, multi-family housing, resort, and commercial developments. Notable projects under Alex’s leadership include Hillcrest High School, Sunset Junior High School, Salt Lake City School District Administration Office, Residences at The Tower – Deer Valley, and Journeyman Apartments.

Alex holds a Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering and Mechanics, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from Utah State University. A licensed Structural Engineer in Utah, he is actively involved in the Structural Engineers Association of Utah (SEAU) and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI).

In his new role, Alex will focus on strategic growth initiatives, mentorship of young engineers, and expanding Calder Richards’ expertise in client-centered structural design.
