Reaching New Heights

Working with an extraordinary team that included VCBO Architects and Hughes General Contractors on the new Alta High School Performing Arts Center, Calder Richards engineered a tilt-up concrete system with panels ranging in height from 55 to 75 feet. The panels, varying in weight from 100,000 to 130,000 lbs., saved Canyons School District over $500,000 while meeting a challenging construction schedule.

Escalating construction costs and a tight design window required engineering the auditorium's supporting walls with tilt panels taller than ever had been done before in Utah!
